Oh Eun Young’s Report: Marriage Hell ( Episode 11

I didn’t actually like a single one of the characters, and especially Gong Gi Tae. And that thing with the letter – what gives him the right to open her mother’s private letter, read the contents, steal it, and then refuse to let her daughter see it? I would have ripped him a new one right there.

Loved how Ki-tae’s mom stands up for Jang-Mi at the wedding by telling the in-laws that dad’s stupid gf can now do those duties she used to do, and definitely not Jang-mi! Yeon Woo Jin is so damn charming in the show, so much so that I wanna get a Ki-tae myself. Han Groo did a great job as Jang-mi too. Her movements are always so dramatic yet still somewhat natural at the same time. Looking forward to see her future projects for sure. Marriage, Not Dating Episode 1

This drama made me laugh, even cry a little and made me care for many of the characters. Ki-tae and Jang-mi are so good and so cute together, and I only can agree, the family aspect in this drama is one of its strongest angles. I also loved the realism in their decision to get married. They know firsthand just how badly marriages can go but even so, they’re still willing to give it a try and try their best to love and support each other despite whatever twists life may throw at them. I also loved the cleverness in the writing, the crazy sound effects, the awesome ost and the cute effects on screen. This really was an interesting, unique, heartwarming, FUNNY show and I’m going to miss it so much.

Mom turns to go but Dad grabs her arm, crying that he’s lost everything so what good is love? Ki-tae didn’t even invite him to the wedding. Mom shakes him off, saying that’s what Ki-tae wanted, but turns back to throw him a pity invite. Meanwhile Ki-tae drinks with Dad, who’s calmed down enough to say that he understands that Ki-tae was just being cautious with Jang-mi. They commiserate over how hard it is to be around women who have to talk everything out, while men just get each other without speaking. Hilariously though, Ki-tae does say he likes how it’s easy to just say a few words to a woman and everything is fine.

Marriage Not Dating Episode 11

It’s my first time seeing Han Groo act and I’m even surprised because she’s so young! Her acting is on point and she’s so good at comedy. Yeon Woo Jin’s characters are so scary and he was a killer in Arang but the first time I saw him was in Ojakgyo Brothers and from then on, I knew he’d do well in a rom com. I will say the product placement for the LG portable photo printer in the last episode totally got me. I immediately looked it up and may still buy it …

The only concern is that she will lose that breast, but Ki-tae tells Jang-mi not to worry, since he knows a great doctor. Se-ah enters right on cue, and offers to do the reconstruction surgery at the same time as the removal, so Jang-mi’s mother doesn’t have to live through the shock of having only one breast. Outside, Ki-tae hugs Jang-mi and tells her to go see her mom, and he’ll stay with Dad. She says sadly that their bet is over since her parents will never see eye-to-eye, but Ki-tae still has hope. She tries one more time to see what’s in the envelope, but Ki-tae promises to show her when their bet is really over.

The fact that he did all those things is just his way of showing love and concern to the ones he care for. It may not be super romantic, but that just makes him, him. Jang-mi asks if he doesn’t have something for her like oh, maybe a ring, and when he shrugs she commands him to take the whole thing back. They can’t do even the most romantic things without fighting. He teases her out of her grump, but in voiceover Jang-mi says that back then, they never expected the worst life-twist that was ahead for their wedding.

Just as i’ve said in ep 15 recap… The later part of the show reveals how our lives may seem shallow and flat on someone else’s eyes when actually things are boiling behind the curtain. And i really dont mind the second leads that much. Man, those aunts of GiTaes are so damn annoying. There’s a reason why you three were not invited, you know.
